A loop along the Lenne to Elspe, the site of the Karl May Festival, and back to Altenhundem.
Lennestadt-Altenhundem
Lennestadt-Altenhundem
From Altenhundem station (Lennestadt), the route runs along the Lenne. The tour runs along a section of the SauerlandRadring. In Meggen, high above the Lenne valley and visible from afar, are the Sauerland Pyramids, which house the Galileo Park. Right next to it is the Siciliaschacht mining museum.
However, the tour continues to Grevenbrück. From there, the tour continues to Elspe, the site of the famous Karl May Festival. The route climbs steadily to Halberbracht, the highest point of the tour. The reward for your efforts follows immediately, as it is all downhill to Langenei, where you meet the Lenne again. Here you cycle back on the SauerlandRading and via Kickenbach you return to the starting point of the tour in Altenhundem.
