For sports-minded guests, a standard-sized bowling alley is available on-site. Upon request, we arrange covered wagon and horse-drawn carriage rides for our guests and provide tips on leisure activities in and around Schönholthausen. Our in-house catering service enjoys a good reputation in the region.
More than 100 years ago, on December 29, 1903, Heinrich Johann Steinhoff received permission to operate a guesthouse and tavern (the customary term in 1903). Two months later, on March 1, 1904, he purchased the former Beckmann Inn in Schönholthausen and renamed it the Steinhoff Inn.
Much time has passed since then—an eventful period encompassing all the dark and light facets of German history, which is also reflected in the development of our inn. This brief chronicle is intended to give you a glimpse into the history of our establishment. At the same time, we would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to all those who have contributed to our inn’s successful development over the past few years and helped it reach its current standard.
