The Battenberg Historical Society has restored the extensive gardens around the 1732 hunting lodge based on historical models and revitalizes them with concerts and exhibitions - a place to meet and reflect.

The "Baroque garden at the Neuburg" extends over around 2,700 square meters and was restored with a great deal of public input and according to historical specifications. It is divided into several terraces, which are connected by symmetrically arranged steps and diagonal paths in the form of a double St. Andrew's cross and delimited to the north-east by crenellated old walls.
The rose garden on the intermediate terrace has already been completed and can now fully unfold its flowering splendor.

Together with the new castle, the old coach houses, the frost barn and the already restored courtyard, the extensive gardens form an exemplary ensemble in the simple Hessian country baroque style. The baroque garden is situated in a uniquely beautiful, urban and topographically prominent location high above the Edertal and invites visitors to linger and contemplate the surrounding landscape. At the same time, it has become a place of encounter and entertainment for young and old.

The area on the main terrace, just below the main building, invites you to theater, concerts, readings, exhibitions, markets and other events as well as to play boules. Or you can enjoy the otherwise tranquil, sunny location with the farm garden right next door in peace and quiet. From this main terrace, you can stroll up the newly created path without steps or obstacles through the wild rose area to the little hill, enjoy the beautiful views of the wide Edertal and take the circular path to the church.
