The Christenbörnchen is a small spring located on the road between Usseln and Rattlar. According to legend, St. Sturmius, a disciple of Boniface, baptized the people of Upland at this spring in the 8th century AD. Baptismal water is still drawn from the Christenbörnchen today. The Upland parishes also hold joint baptism celebrations at the Christenbörnchen at regular intervals.
