The chapel is dedicated to the "Sorrowful Mother at the Lord's Tomb". It was built in 1929 on the basis of a vow made by Pastor Rhene. Its architecture is reminiscent of the upper part of the chapel on the Mount of Beatitudes in the Holy Land, which is located near Capernaum.
It is the landmark of the village of Braunshausen and shines in a beautiful light every evening at dusk. During the day, you can enjoy the beautiful view of Braunshausen from the chapel.
