The municipal game park is located opposite Frankenberg's historic Altstadt. Here you will find mountain goats as well as black, red, fallow, sika and mouflon deer. Apart from the fenced-in wild boar and mountain goats, the animals roam freely without any disturbing fences. The famous Ederhöhenpfad trail runs partly through the park and allows you to observe animals at close range. You can also reach the wildlife park on the Frankenberger Blickwinkel premium city hiking trail. A special experience for young and old is the walk through the free-roaming wild animals up close, a playground welcomes you to take a breather. The animals are so trusting that even children can stroke them.

The annual highlights that you should definitely not miss are

  • the birth of the mouflon lambs in spring

  • the birth of fallow deer and red deer calves in June

  • the traditional game park festival at the beginning of September

  • the red deer rut in September

  • fallow deer rut in October

  • Christmas tree campaign in December

The municipal wildlife park is open free of charge at all times of the year and day.
