Goats are smart, curious and extremely sociable - qualities that make them wonderful hiking companions. If you fancy a special time out in nature, you shouldn't miss the guided goat tours offered by Ziege2go in Schalksmühle. Marzena and Christian, the two initiators, keep a small herd of five to six goats, including the endangered Tauernschecke breed. They put their heart and soul into preserving them and make it possible to experience how beneficial contact with these animals can be.

The tours start in the densely wooded surroundings of Schalksmühle and, depending on your preference, take either a shorter route of around one hour or a longer route lasting around two hours. During the hike, the goats explore their surroundings in a lively and playful manner - but always stay close to the herd. Children and adults alike can get very close to the trusting animals and even stroke them. The end of each tour is particularly popular: feeding the goats together, which provides another opportunity for intense animal-human moments.
