The Hillestausee near Niedersfeld is an 8.5-hectare reservoir in the Rothaargebirge. It is used as a bathing lake for recreational purposes. Its dam, completed in 1979, is the 250-metre-long Hillebach dam in NiedersfeldIn the new child-friendly bathing bay, young and old can swim, splash around and sunbathe to their heart's content on warm summer days.
FishingSince
the water ski lift does not operate all day and all year round, there are still quiet spots for fishing. Fishing is permitted with two rods. Keeping and live bait fish are prohibited. The season runs from April to October 20th. Fishing licenses are available from the tourist office or from the parking lot machine at Hillebachsee (no tickets for children here) upon presentation of the official fishing permit
