Visitors are informed about the history of the dam and the lake as well as the power generation.


An impressive photo exhibition shows the Edersee region before the Edersee dam was built, the construction of the Edersee dam, the submerged villages and their people, the destruction of the dam during the Second World War and its reconstruction, and the Edersee at low water (Edersee Atlantis) when the submerged villages reappear. You will also find information about the hydroelectric power stations, a cutaway model of the cavern power station and a large-scale model of the Edersee region. You can also take the funicular to the "Zum Waldbölker" restaurant and enjoy the beautiful view.
